Tendonitis (Tendinitis) Relief?
18.November, 2008
Can anyone recommend a good product for helping tendonitis in the wrist. There are so many different remedies on the internet it would be nice to hear from someone who has experienced relief personally. Wrist pain in both wrists for over 6 months.
Thanks
You can find a wrist brace from any drug store, there are several types and prices. Wear the brace while you sleep if possible, or at least 8 hours a day. Not only will it relieve the pressure it will also maintain and eventually diminish the tendinitis. Back off whatever repetitive motion is creating your problem. Good Luck

I have tendonitis in my elbow, and I tried this cream called Bio-Freeze. It's kind of like Ben-Gay but not greasy and it doesn't get hot. It actually works REALLY well. I tried a couple little trial sizes first, so you may be able to get some from a local chiropractor (which is where I got mine) or visit http://www.biofreeze.com for more info. I hope this helps!!!!

Having had tendonitis and repetitive-motion injuries in the past, I cannot emphasize enough that you see a doctor for this condition. He/she will tell you the main treatments are a wrist splint, an anti-inflammatory, ice for pain, and reducing your use of the affected limbs and the activity that's exacerbating the condition.
If you use a computer, make certain your workspace is ergonomically fitted for you, has wrist support, and a keyboard that is slanted. Your mouse pad can also have wrist support. Try Microsoft's ergo keyboard, to see if it might work for you.
I eventually sought two additional treatments, that proved effective: acupuncture and physical therapy. Acupunture stimulates necessary circulation to the areas in pain, and also prevented nerve damage to my thumb. Physical therapy re-taught some of my muscles to work in a different way than they were accustomed, so that I didn't re-injure the nerves and muscles most affected. These aren't products so much as treating the source of the problem.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
